Private Banker – SME Owners & Self-employed (East Flanders)

Are you driven by the challenge of helping successful entrepreneurs and self-employed professionals secure and grow their wealth? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established private banking institution in Aalst, looking to expand its services for high-potential clients in East Flanders.
You will join a dynamic team of seven private bankers, supported by two sales and service officers, portfolio managers, and a dedicated wealth analysis planner. Your day-to-day focus will be on offering personalized advice in wealth management, spanning investment strategies, tax planning, and succession planning.
As you grow a portfolio of around 200 clients, you will collaborate with internal experts and leverage your holistic financial knowledge to ensure top-notch service. Responsibilities
- Offer tailored guidance to high-net-worth clients (invested assets above 500,000 EUR), focusing on wealth preservation and growth
- Build a robust private banking portfolio by aligning your advice with each client’s unique circumstances and aspirations
- Oversee and maintain long-term relationships with a personal client base of approximately 200 accounts, driving retention
- Identify and recruit new private banking clients via networking and public relations events
- Coordinate with internal teams, including asset management and wealth analysis, to offer a unified, high-quality client experience
Must have
- Proven track record in investments, portfolio management, or related financial services
- Strong knowledge of legal, financial, and tax considerations relevant to SMEs and self-employed individuals
- Ability to simplify complex financial matters, tailoring explanations to diverse client backgrounds
- A proactive mindset, ready to adapt to changing market conditions and client needs
- Proficiency in Dutch (spoken and written); English is considered an asset
Nice to have
- Experience advising or working directly with small businesses and entrepreneurial clients
- Familiarity with innovative digital banking tools or platforms
- Certification or interest in pursuing qualifications from the Private Banking Association-Belgium (PBAB)
- Background in estate planning or succession planning for self-employed professionals
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, informal environment that fosters collaboration
